John Morrison在Vengeance: Night of Champions（PPV）得到ECW冠军做着自身的转变：在2007年7月17日的ECW上改变名字从Johnny Nitro到John Morrison的一个历史性时刻。Morrison在拿到ECW冠军头衔之后已经小有名气，并坚持自我。

在那之后，Morrison与The Miz搭档并使MNM更上一层楼而且使WWE双打冠军既是属于SmackDown又属于ECW。The Shaman of Sexy（钻石王老五）的虚荣心到达了一个新的高度，和他的职业生涯非常相像。
